The Edmonton Oilers are gearing up for a Pacific Division showdown against the Seattle Kraken tonight, but it's looking like the Edmonton Oilers will be without Stuart Skinner's services tonight due to a very special reason.

According to Edmonton Oilers commentator Jack Micheals, Stuart Skinner and his wife are expecting the birth of their second child! What magnificent news!
According to Liam McCormick of Oilers Daily, according to Jack Michaels, Skinner is absent to be with his wife while expecting a child, Klingberg is dealing with immigration documents, and Nurse is questionable with an illness.
Given this update, it seems unlikely that any of these players will be available to play in tonight's game against the Seattle Kraken.
While Stuart Skinner is mentally preparing for the birth of his second baby, the Edmonton Oilers have called up an emergency goaltender to backup Calvin Pickard.
Oilers fans might remember back in 2023 when Stuart Skinner flew home mid-way through their California road-trip as his wife gave birth to their first born.
Understandably, Stuart Skinner will be unavailable for tonight's matchup.
It's one of those scenario's where life trumps the game of hockey, and Oilers Central would like to congratulate Stuart Skinner for this amazing new milestone in life.
As per Liam McCormick, when speaking about being cut from Team Canada earlier this season, Skinner actually mentioned it as a blessing in disguise - giving him time away from work to be with his newborn and young family. It's admirable that he's prioritizing his time with family.
There is a blessing in disguise, which is I get to be a father to a newborn baby for a little while. It'll be nice.
