Stuart Skinner goes down hard after dirty hit from Nikita Zadorov
Breakings news in Oil Country as goaltender Stuart Skinner was escorted off the ice following a dirty hit from Boston Bruins defenceman Nikita Zadorov. Unfortunately, Stuart Skinner has left the game for medical evaluation, and Calvin Pickard has stepped in relief.
With just minutes left in the 1st period, Boston Bruins defenceman Nikita Zadorov took the puck along the boards and came charging in to the Oilers net, unfortunately, Nikita Zadorov made no attempt to slow down, colliding hard with Stuart Skinner a massive hit.
Stuart Skinner appeared to be shaken up and stayed down for a few minutes. Edmonton Oilers trainer TD Forrs came out to provide the initial intake on Stuart Skinner, and ultimately advised him to go down the tunnel for medical assistance.
While Calvin Pickard steps in for now, let's hope the damage to Stuart Skinner is minimal.
Stuart Skinner came into tonight's matchup posting a 15-8-3 record with a .898 SP
