Reports suggest that Edmonton Oilers owner Daryl Katz has seen his wealth increase by 40% over the past year and this shows that the franchise is doing good as the NHL salary cap rises.

While some teams may be unable to spend, the Oilers could capitalize on their growing resources to maintain a competitive edge.
Katz's net worth has grown from $4.1 billion to $5.8 billion and according to Grizzly Bulls, this aligns with the Oilers' rise in franchise value.
They are now ranked as the NHL's sixth most valuable team, Edmonton has transformed into a premier hockey destination under Katz's ownership.
Seravalli said he became interested in Katz's relations to his players during the May 2024 Oilers-Stars series when he saw Draisaitl and Katz's celebrating a big win. "They stood there and they hugged. And I was like, 'Huh, that's interesting.' You don't see that that often. There's real relationship there."

Since purchasing the team in 2007, he has invested in Rogers Place, first-class facilities and a winning culture that has attracted and retained elite talent like Connor Mcdavid and Leon Drasaitl.
Players have shown appreciation for Katz's role in the team's success, and NHL insider Frank Seravalli noted that Oilers players embraced Katz after clinching their first Stanley Cup Final berth.
During the 2024 Oilers-Stars series, Seravalli witnessed Leon Draisaitl and Katz sharing a celebratory hug and this is highlighting their close relationship.
While some financial moves, like jersey ads and ticket price hikes he may not be universally popular, Katz's investments have revitalized the franchise.
If his efforts result in Connor McDavid leading the Oilers to a Stanley Cup, fans will likely see it as a worthwhile trade-off.
