The Edmonton Oilers are gearing up for a thrilling showdown against the red hot Minnesota Wild tonight, and head coach Kris Knoblauch announces some key roster moves.

The Edmonton Oilers have officially announced via X (formally known as twitter) that the team has re-called forward Drake Caggiula from the Bakersfield Condors, hinting that Zach Hyman will be sidelined due to an undisclosed injury.

Zach Hyman left the game the game on Tuesday against the Ottawa Senators and did not return.

Although the Oilers pulled off the much needed win, the potential injury to Zach Hyman came as a significant blow to the team.

While the broadcast didn't catch a view of the hit against Hyman, he was blown up by Habs defenceman Arber Xhekaj during the Montreal Canadiens game.

He definitely could've been feeling something from that hit.

So far, the Oilers have had to make due without Evander Kane, Viktor Arvidsson, and Darnell Nurse, including McDavids absence a few weeks prior.

Although Hyman isn't producing at his normal rate, he's still notched a respectable 8 points playing alongside Connor McDavid.

Now, fans will look to Drake Caggiula to make the most of his call-up.

As for now, there has been no official announcement regarding Zach Hyman, but Caggiula's recall from Bakersfield states the obvious.

Tonight should be a really good test for the Oilers who are hoping to get their season back on track.

The Minnesota Wild have surprisingly emerged as one of the NHL's hottest teams, posting a 12-3-3 record.
