The fastest player of the Edmonton Oilers is not Connor McDavid anymore!

The 2024-25 Oilers Skills Competition at Rogers Place saw Team White claim a 37-21 victory over Team Blue in an exciting afternoon of events.
Although
Connor McDavid misses the skills competition due to illness, there's a new speed demon in town...
Kasperi Kapanen showed his speed by winning the fastest skater and reaching 40.0 km/h to win the event.
His final-round performance of 3-for-4 secured a seven-point swing for his team.
Viktor Arvidsson surprised the field by winning the hardest shot competition with a 101.5 mph shot and beating out Darnell Nurse with his 99.6 mph and
Vasily Podkolzin at 97.7 mph.
Team White dominated the Dish Derby by completing the passing challenge in just one attempt per shooter.
The Ruff Ruff Relay which is a fan-favorite event, saw a thrilling race between debutant Phoebe Stecher and Diggsy Harrison, with Phoebe taking the victory by just under a second.
The event featured plenty of excitement and despite big players like Connor McDavid,
Mattias Ekholm, Mattias Janmark and
Corey Perry sitting out.
The Oilers Skills Competition is an annual tradition anmd once again provided fans with a fun-filled afternoon of skill displays, friendly competition, and standout individual performances as the team looks ahead to the remainder of the 2024-25 NHL season.
