Hockey insiders Pierre LeBrun, Chris Johnston, and Darren Dreger have been chomping at bits over team Canada's roster selection, and they have just released the official roster.
The tournament, running from February 12 to 20, will feature Canada, the USA, Sweden, and Finland, with games held in Montreal and Boston.
Initially, 4 members of the Oilers the Edmonton Oilers were front runners to make the team.
Evan Bouchard, Stuart Skinner, and Zach Hyman will now be watching the games from home, as their underwhelming start to the season has ruined their opportunity to play on hockey's biggest stage.
As it stands, Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid is the only member of the team who has made the cut.
Although Team Canada definitely poses as a formidable threat, I think leaving Zach Hyman off the team is a mistake.
Corey Perry recently stated that having chemistry established for a short tournament is imperative, and having Zach Hyman playing alongside Connor McDavid would've given the 1st line a significant edge.
It will be interesting to see how McDavid performs with a brand new set of line-mates at the international level.
