Edmonton Oilers insider Mark Spector makes bold statement about Jeff Skinner
The Edmonton Oilers are coming off a disappointing 1-0 loss to the Las Vegas Golden Knights, and insider Mark Spector seems to have all the answers for tomorrow's matchup.
The Edmonton Oilers were shut-out last night, but it wasn't for a lack of trying. The Golden Knights played a tight checking game, in addition to goaltender Aiden Hill standing on his head.
With that being said, being shutout is unnacceptable for a team with such elite scoring abilities, and Mark Spector appears to have the answer to the Oilers offensive woes.
According to Spector, if
Zach Hyman is cleared to play tomorrow, he believes that
Jeff Skinner should be promoted back on the Oilers top-6.
Jeff Skinner has been stuck in head coach Kris Knoblauch's dog-house the past few weeks, struggling to play quality minutes and relegated to the bottom-6.
Although Jeff Skinner has had an abysmal start to the season, Spec does make a valid point.
Last night, Jeff Skinner was one of the more noticeable Oilers on the ice, impressing coaches and fans with his physical assertiveness and play making abilities.
RNH McDavid Hyman
Podkolzin Draisaitl Skinner
Janmark Henrique Brown
Kapanen Ryan Perry
According to Spector,
Kasperi Kapanen should be demoted to the Oilers 4th line, giving Skinner the chance to play quality minutes alongside
Leon Draisaitl.
Although it's unlikely Kris Knoblauch promotes Jeff Skinner to a top 6 role just yet, it will be interesting to see if Skinner has earned himself a couple more extra minutes of ice time.
