Recently, Edmonton Oilers head coach Kris Knoblauch expressed his desire to spread out the offense to improve the team's depth. He made the interesting decision to promote Connor Brown to the Oilers top line, while relegating Zach Hyman to the 3rd line. While the Edmonton Oilers certainly have oddities in their lineup they need to hash out, they have an immediate solution in top prospect Matthew Savoie.

Matthew Savoie is currently on a massive heater with the Bakersfield Condors. He's already recorded 24 points in just 28 regular season games, and fans are urging GM Stan Bowman to give him a shot leading up to the trade deadline.

Oilers should re-call Matthew Savoie ASAP

According to the Hockey News, Matt Savoie is scoring a lot in the AHL right now. He has 12 points in his last six games for the Bakersfield Condors. Five of those points have been goals.

In last night's game, he scored one goal, registered two assists, and fired five shots on goal.

Savoie looks like the perfect call-up for the Oilers. He has the offensive confidence right now to plug into the team's top-six to give it a jolt, but he also has a playing style that blends with what Knoblauch is looking for.

Matthew Savoie is exactly the type of player that Kris Knoblauch loves.

He plays a responsible two-way game, and would be a dynamic complimentary piece to the Oilers depth.

Although Matthew Savoie had a relatively underwhelming pre-season campaign, he's slowly transitioned his training camp experience into incredible AHL season.
