Edmonton Oilers forward Evander Kane is somewhat of a polarizing figure in the NHL. During is younger years on the Winnipeg Jets and the San Jose Sharks, he developed a little bit of a reputation as a locker room "cancer". However, he's recently proving to the world he's anything but that.

Earlier today on social media, Evander Kane shared some special moments of his annual "Christmas Shop", where the veteran spoiled over 200 kids in the Edmonton community.

Based off the video, you can tell how ecstatic these kids were about meeting Evander Kane -- and of course, toys!

It was heartwarming to see Evander Kane messing around with the kids, buying them toys, and embracing his role as leader.

According to Liam McCormick of Oilers Daily Kane has done this in other cities in his NHL career before, and while missing time with injury back in 2021, he decided to put together the same event in Edmonton. In a TMZ interview last year, Kane explained a bit more about the event.

»This is our third annual shop. I came up with the idea when I was injured, I had my wrist cut open and was up for a lengthy period. I wanted to find a meaningful way to impact kids in the Edmonton community, obviously, around the Christmas and holiday season.

It was something that I've done in other cities as well and wanted to kind of continue that.

Oilers Central would like to tip their cap to Evander Kane for helping make Christmas so special for these amazing kids.
