Many people may underestimate just how tough hockey players truly are. While athletes in sports like rugny and football are undeniably tough, the grit and resileince of hockey players is totally next level.
From spirited tilts, pucks to the face, slap-shots to the jock, hockey can be utterly ruthless.
In the case of Edmonton Oilers forward Evander Kane, he emulates the durability and toughness it takes to play in the playoffs.
According to Stauffer's reports Kane was dealing with extreme amounts of pain during the Stanley Cup Finals and received several painkiller shots before each of the games he attempted to play in.
Even during the games, it was clear Evander Kane was in a severe amount of pain, he couldn't even sit on the bench, instead hovering over it, visibly wincing.
According to Daniel Nugent-Bowman, Kane had corrective surgery for six different problems: four different abdominal muscles and two hernias.
Fast forward a few months later, the Oilers are expecting Evander to slot in the lineup come March, and it should be interesting to see how Kane adjusts after being gone for so long.
Nonetheless, Evander Kane is one tough customer -- and the Oilers need him back.
