During the Edmonton Oilers vs St. Louis Blues game, Jeff Skinner appeared visibly frustrated on the bench despite making a few solid plays.

His limited ice time under Kris Knoblauch has been a something obvious and recurring, and trade rumors have been around him all season.
Skinner has struggled to find his place in Edmonton's lineup and Kris Knoblauch has been hesitant to increase his minutes, but Skinner continues to work hard to prove he belongs to the NHL.
Following the game, Oilers reporter Mark Spector write on X to say that Jeff Skinner's recent efforts are there.
He credited the forward with two excellent backchecks that may have saved at least one, if not two goals.
Two excellent back-checks by Jeff Skinner saves at last a goal, maybe two. Give a guy credit: It hasn't gone the way he'd hoped in EDM, but he's not moping about it. Playing hard in a Bottom 6 role.

Skinner showed flashes and good defensive play and was active in the offensive zone by creating chances around the net.
If he continues to improve, this could be a turning point in his season, but
it's clear Skinner is frustrated with his situation and wants to earn more trust from Knoblauch.
Despite his efforts, he played just 9:57 against the Blues and many fans believe Knoblauch is being too stubborn with his playing time and that it's keeping the struggling top-six together while limiting Skinner's chances.
Unless something changes, Skinner's trade value will remain low, and he'll have to work his way out of his current struggles to become an important player for Edmonton.
