Mark Spector notices concerning discrepancy in Ty Emberson's player profile
The Edmonton oilers will be looking to re-sign defenceman Ty Emberson in the new year, but reporter Mark Spector recently published an article that is rather shocking concerning Emberson's player profile.
Recently, Spector sat down for an interview with Ty Emberson where they discussed his potential future playing in Edmonton.
According to Liam McCormick of Oilers Daily, interestingly, Spector also addressed a discrepancy many Oilers fans have noticed and discussed online: Emberson is listed by the Oilers as 6'2, but appears to be much shorter.
»I stood next to him, and he was in stocking feet. I'm five-eleven. He was not taller than me. How much does he weigh? He's small-ish, but sure, he could be 190.»
- Mark Spector
The fact that the Edmonton Oilers have Emberson listed as 6'2 `is somewhat troubling considering he's not even taller than Mark Spector.
The source of data appears to be questionable, and a clear discrepancy exists that requires immediate correction to ensure hockey fans have access to accurate and transparent information.
Ty Emberson still plays a tough game, even if he is shorter than his listed height. He's got into a few fights already this year, and is still able to break up cycles and clear the net front. As long as he has that ability, he'll keep his value on the penalty kill, and should stay in Edmonton.
While Emberson might not even crack the 6 ft mark, he's still proven hismelf as a reliable 6th defender, and Stan Bowman should lock him down as soon as possible.
