The hockey world is still mourning the tragic passing of Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau, and the Calgary Flames honoured the late brothers with a beautiful tribute prior to puck drop.

Tonight marks the first night the Columbus Blue Jackets and the Calgary Flames play since Johnny Gaudreau's tragic passing, and emotions were at an all time high at the Scotiabank Saddledome.
Johnny and Matthew were struck by an alleged drunk driver while they were biking in Salem County, New Jersey, on Aug. 29. Johnny was 31. Matthew was 29.
Johnny Gaudreau was a beloved member of the Calgary Flames organization, playing a total of 9 seasons in southern Alberta.
Prior to puck drop, Meredith Gaudreau, Johnny's widow, showcased a ton of courage and strength during her interview with Sportsnet.
I've got to say... this woman is so incredibly strong. She could hide away from cameras and the media for the rest of her life and no one would blame her for it. Instead she's putting herself out there to preserve her husband's memory. That's what real love looks like.

Johnny's parents also paid a visit to the Saddledome, where they extended their sincere appreciation for the outpouring of love and support since the tragedy.
«We are deeply grateful to the Flames organization for inviting us back,» said Jane to Flames insider Eric Francis. «Guy and I, along with our entire family, are looking forward to reconnecting with many friends in Calgary," Jane said while adding that things have been tough for her family lately, especially with the holidays coming up.

Oilers Central would like to extend their deepest sympathies to the Gaudreau family.
