According to sources, Edmonton Oilers general manager Stan Bowman has been recieving "unsolicited" phone calls from agents around the NHL, requesting player trades to the team.
It's no secret that the Edmonton Oilers have undergone a major face lift since drafting hockey superstar Connor McDavid.
Over the past decade, the Oilers franchise have seen their stock steadily increase, and the team has generated a flow of interest from fans across the world.
On a recent segment of Oilers Now with Bob Stauffer, Oilers general manager Stan Bowman revealed that he's receiving unsolicited calls from from agents around the NHL, expressing their clients' desire to play in Edmonton.
«This is something I haven't talked a lot about, but I've had several agents call me and tell me that their players want to come to Edmonton. Agents I've talked to say we have to give our list of the few places we can play, and Edmonton is on that list now. They want to come here. «Word is out-this is a great place to be,» Bowman added.»

The Oilers had a glorious Stanley Cup run last season, getting all the way to game 7 before being ousted by the Florida Panthers.
Nonetheless, Edmonton is now the place where players want to be. Interestingly enough, Elliotte Friedman discusses this very topic on his 32 Thoughts podcast, backing up Bowman's recent claims.
"We can talk about the weather, we can talk about the taxes, we can talk about the attention, the number one thing is still, Where do think I can win?' Any player you want, that's the number one thing. And players right now think they can win in Edmonton."
Although the Edmonton Oilers haven't had the most impressive start to the 2024-25 season, the team has been relatively known to start off slowly.
Despite their slow start, it's clear that pending UFA's are stating their interest to play alongside Leon Draisaitl and Connor McDavid.
