A few weeks ago when the Edmonton Oilers acquired Jacob Perreault from Canadiens, no one really paid attention to it. The Edmonton traded prospect Noel Hoefenmayer to the Montreal Canadiens, where he has become a significant challenge for prospect Logan Mailloux.

According to Habs Fanatic, as reported by the excellent Anthony Marcotte of BPM Sports, the player acquired from Edmonton has 'pushed' Logan Mailloux out of the Rocket's power play.

More and more, Hoefenmayer is taking Mailloux's minutes, and it's having a significant impact on the Logan's production.

As per Oilers Daily, Noel Hoefenmayer was a quality minor league defenceman for the Oilers AHL team this season, scoring 1 goal and 7 points in 11 games so far this year.

After being drafted by the Arizona Coyotes in the 4th round of the 2017 draft, Hoefenmayer spent most of his time developing in the Maple Leafs system before joining the Oilers organization last year. He's a big, physical defenceman that's not rounding out a more complete game at 25 years old.

Logan Mailloux is considered one of the top prospects in the Habs organization, but has failed to live up to the hype so far.

While he has notched 15 points in 23 games this season with the Laval Rocket, it appears that the former Oilers prospect has taken his place on the power play.
