On a recent segment of the Reid Wilkins Show Podcast, Chicago Blackhawks insider Ben Pope made an appearance, revealing what it would've costed GM Stan Bowman to acquire former Oilers superstar Taylor Hall.

Now, I know this ship has long sailed.
Before Hall's blockbuster acquisition to the Carolina Hurricanes, rumours were heavily circulating about about potential reunion to northern Alberta.
After a frustrating start to the season with the Chicago Blackhawks, Taylor Hall yet again found himself on the chopping block, frequently being healthy scratched and relegated to a bottom-six role.
The idea of a change of scenery quickly became inevitable, and fans around the league felt GM Stan Bowman was poised to make a move on the former MVP.

Taylor Hall was worth a bag of pucks

According to Ben Pope, the asking price for Taylor Hall was a 3rd round pick at 50% retained -- an incredibly cheap bargain.
The idea of bringing Hall back to the city of Champions sparked mixed reviews among fans.
Although bringing Taylor Hall back for a Stanley Cup run would have been an incredible Cinderella story, I think GM Stan Bowman made a good decision by staying clear of Taylor Hall.
Despite Bowman's former ties to the city of Chicago, Hall's best days are behind him, and he's Carolina's problem now.
Although acquiring Hall for a 3rd round draft pick at 50% retained would have been a value deal, there's no sense disrupting the Oilers locker room chemistry with past drama.
