The Edmonton Oilers will be looking for a major bounce-back after being shutout Tuesday by the Las Vegas Golden Knights.
Despite playing a full 60 minutes, the Oilers offence was snubbed by goaltender Aden Hill's stellar performance in net.
The last time these two teams met marked one of the most disastrous regular season games of the year.
The Oilers were absolutely dominated by the Columbus Blue Jackets by a score of 6-1, and to make matters worse, they lost Connor McDavid to an injury.
Since the last outing between these two teams, the Edmonton Oilers have slowly started to get things back on track.
The Edmonton Oilers have gone 10-5-1 since losing to Columbus, clawing their way back into relevance in a tight Pacific Division.
Furthermore, Edmonton Oilers insider Tony Brar just announced that Zach Hyman is cleared from injury and will be playing tonight.
Head coach Kris Knoblauch is also giving Calvin Pickard the nod between the pipes tonight.
On a side note, this is the Columbus Blue Jacket's first game at Rogers place since the tragic passing of Johnny Gaudreau over the offseason.
In a recent interview, Conor McDavid reminisced about his days playing against Johnny Gaudreau during his days with the Calgary Flames.
«I'm grateful I had the chance to play against him. I played a playoff series against him, had many heated battles in the Battle of Alberta against him, and got to know him a little bit,»

Edmonton will be returning home for a 3 game homestead, after going 2-1 on their latest 3 game road trip. The Oil will matchup with the St. Louis Blues on Saturday and the Tampa Bay Lightning next Tuesday.

Edmonton will try and improve on their 13-10-2 record, good for 5th in the Pacific Division.
