Biased Edmonton Oilers insider voices frustration over Stuart Skinner being snubbed from Team Canada

The rosters for the 4 Nations Face-Off Tournament have finally been released, and Edmonton Oilers insider Jim Matheson hasn't taken too kindly to the selections.
Initially, the Edmonton Oilers had four players who earned significant consideration for Team Canada: Stuart Skinner, Evan Bouchard, Connor McDavid, and Zach Hyman.
Surprisingly, Edmonton Oilers insider Jim Matheson seems to be most upset by goaltender Stuart Skinners dismissal, stating that he's a far better option than Montreal Canadiens goaltender Sam Montembeault.
According to Matheson, Stuart Skinner is the superior choice due to his "big game" experience.
Stuart Skinner out-duelled Dallas Stars goaltender Jake Oettinger during the 2024 West Conference Final, in addition to making it all the way to game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final.
Pretty silly really that Skinner can't even make the Snubbed Team for Canada. Obviously people forgot Skinner outplayed one of NHL's best goalies Jake Oettinger in Game 6 of West Conf final last spring to get Oilers to final
Recently, Team Canada GM Don Sweeney issued a statement, hinting that players who weren't selected should stay ready in the event of injuries or other unforeseen circumstances.
Just trying to make sure we weren't missing players that were playing well, that were gonna fit the identity that the coaches had laid out We left off some great players that could easily represent Canada in this event, and they very well may. That was messaging afterwards some guys will be waiting in the wings.

According to Liam McCormick of Oilers Daily, Stuart Skinner has been wildly inconsistent this season since taking the Oilers to the Cup Final, and with his save percentage far below .900 this season, it was fair that he be cut from the roster. He's been better lately, but Skinner's turnaround is too little too late.
