On today's segment of Oilers Now with Bob Stauffer, the hockey pundit reports that Anaheim Ducks defenceman Cam Fowler could be the next big move for Edmonton Oilers general manager Stan Bowman.

It's no secret by now that the Edmonton Oilers are currently seeking help on their blue-line, and GM Stan Bowman has been patiently timing the market for the right moment to strike.

Now, the latest reports from Bob Stauffer indicate that Cam Fowler may be in play.

Cam Fowler is a veteran NHL defenceman known for his lethal shot and shut-down capabilities.

Although he's always been considered an elite blue-liner, he's been stuck on an abysmal team for the past 7 seasons.

According to The Hockey News, Fowler (32) has two years left on his contract that carries an AAV of $6.5 million and includes a no-trade clause restricting the number of teams to four to which he can accept a trade.

An issue could be price as the Oilers don't have a particularly deep or potent prospect pool. They possess four picks in the upcoming draft (rounds 2,3,6, and 7) as well as all their picks in the 2026 draft.

If a deal could be reached, the potential fit for Fowler in Edmonton is undeniable.

Let's face it, the Oilers are absolutely strapped for cash right now.

If salary retention comes into play, I believe Stan Bowman should make every attempt to make it happen.

While it's unclear how Stan Bowman could pull it off, Bob Stauffer confidently listed Cam Fowler as an Oilers trade target -- and he's rarely wrong.
