Trade rumors have linked Boston Bruins captain Brad Marchand to the Edmonton Oilers, but past comments about the city suggest a deal is improbable.

With the Bruins slipping in the playoff race and Marchand in the final year of his $6.125 million contract, analysts have speculated about the Bruins possibly moving him with a trade.
However, Brad Marchand has an eight-team no-trade list that likely includes Edmonton which is making the scenario a little difficult.
Last season, Marchand made his feelings about Edmonton clear with multiple social media comments.
When rumors circulated about the 2025 NHL All-Star Game possibly being hosted in Edmonton, Marchand said that many NHL players would skip the event if it were held there.
Twitter user @OilersAnalytics told him to "Go put on your nail polish and lipstick Alberta is too tough for little Brad."

Let's put it this way.. no ones taking less to stay there

Though Marchand has since deleted his account, these remarks were archived by outlets like the Daily Hive and considering these comments and his no-trade clause, it's unlikely Marchand would accept a move to Edmonton in a trade for the Boston Bruins.
Despite the off-ice friction, Marchand remains an elite two-way forward and at 36, he has scored 19 goals and 42 points in 54 games this season which is very good for a forward that brings a lot of energy on the ice like him.
Yet, with 16 seasons as a Bruin under his belt and few fanbases willing to accept his personality, Marchand seems destined to retire in Boston which is something most Oilers fans would likely prefer anyway.
