The annual holiday roster freeze is set to lift tomorrow at midnight, and the Montreal Canadiens are the latest team to send shockwaves down the NHL, announcing they will be placing backup goaltender Cayden Primeau on waivers.
Speculation has been intensifying regarding GM Stan Bowman's plans leading up to the trade deadline.
Wile many Oilers enthusiasts seem certain Stan Bowman will be making a move on a top-4 defenceman, the Montreal Canadiens may have given the Oilers an opportunity too good to pass up.
Currently, Cayden Primeau has the worst save percentage in the league, currently sitting at .836 through 11 regular season games.
With that being said, he's a former top prospect with impressive accolades attached to his resume.
Primeau represented the United States three times in International Ice Hockey Federation play as a member of the U.S. Men's National Team (2019), U.S. Under-18 Men's National Team (2017 - gold) and U.S. National Junior Team (2019 - silver).
