A fellow Oilers enthusiast recently spotted Bob Stauffer at the casino trying his luck on the slots, and the hockey pundit was not impressed by the encounter.
Personally, if I saw Bob Stauffer out in public I wouldn't hesitate to shake his hand and stir up a friendly chat with him.
But in on this occasion, I think the fan took it too far. We all have lives outside of our professional careers, and Bob Stauffer clearly felt like his privacy was being violated, prompting him to push the camera out of his face.
With that being said, Bob Stauffer was a really good sport about it. After the camera was pushed away, you can hear Bob Stauffer ask the fan "but hey, what's your name?" and pair undoubtetly continued a cordial conversation about hockey.
It's no secret that Bob Stauffer is one of the legends of the Edmonton Oilers organization.
Bob Stauffer is in his 17th season as Oilers Radio Analyst after joining the Oilers Radio Broadcast team in 2008 following five years as the host of "Total Sports" on Team 1260.
I think he's widely regarded as one of the nicest media guys around, and I think that sentiment is shared equally by the Oilers fanbase.
Regardless, even though the fan may have crossed the line during this interaction, I genuinely hope Bob Stauffer made a couple bucks at the casino -- he deserves it.
